I'm Male Cuéllar, a Salvadoran visual artist, illustrator, and muralist with over 14 years of experience in art and design. My work is deeply inspired by Latin American identity, tropical nature, and the strength and beauty of women. Through vibrant colors, organic shapes, and bold compositions, I create visual stories that celebrate culture, identity, and our connection to the natural world.
My artistic practice focuses primarily on painting, illustration, and large-scale murals, working with acrylics and spray paint. I have developed artistic projects and murals across El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Spain, the United States, and Japan, bringing my colorful visual language to different communities and cultural spaces.
One of my proudest achievements has been representing El Salvador at the Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid in 2018, 2020, and 2022. My international journey has also taken me to Japan, where I created a commemorative mural in collaboration with the Embassy of El Salvador in Tokyo to celebrate 90 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and El Salvador. During this experience, I also presented my artwork in exhibitions in Tokyo and Kyoto.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with international brands and organizations, including Mastercard, Starbucks, Crocs, UNICEF, IOM, USAID, and UNHCR, developing creative projects that connect art, storytelling, and community engagement.
I hold a degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado in El Salvador and completed postgraduate studies in Illustration and Visual Communication at EINA in Barcelona, Spain. Alongside my artistic practice, I have also worked as a university educator, sharing my experience and passion for visual communication with emerging designers.
I see art as a way to connect people across cultures and borders. My goal is to continue creating work that brings Latin American stories into new spaces, celebrating where I come from while building meaningful connections around the world.
From Latin America, with Color.
